May you let your people love you well.
May you eat that one more slice of cake with gusto, never counting calories.
May you walk in your steps of motherhood, sisterhood, daughterhood, with grace and love and JOY.
May you rest in the arms of JESUS and know that you are LOVED, you are LOVED, you are LOVED.
Here are this week’s favorite reads!
The Gospel Coalition: Jackie Robinson- The Story Behind the Story
To be sure, Jackie Robinson’s story is a baseball story. It is a story of undaunted courage. It is one of the shining moments in the still-unfolding chronicles of the American experiment. But best of all, it is a story of substitution and sacrifice and redemption. Much like the Greatest Story Ever Told.
Sarah Markely : A Deeper Story- This is Revival
Love this article because my poor hiney has sat for days and nights in services called Revival and all I remember about them was the booming preacher and the 48 stanzas of Just As I Am. Love the way she defines revival. Makes my soul smile.
John Blase: Therefore- On the passing of Brennan Manning ~ Beautiful. Moving. Tugs at my sad heart strings.
Maybe one of these days in the Church it’ll be acceptable to say I’m a believer but I’m sad. I’m not talking Eeyore-sad, where I’m nothing but a barely moving mass of mope, but more Don Quixote-sad, still itchin’ to fight windmills but faced with a woeful countenance.
Erin Steinhoff: Love this lady and her mama (her mama was Isaac’s small group leader for YEARS) and I LOVE her take on adoption. Quick read and I pray that your heart is cracked open towards adoption.
And on another note- I went to see The Great Gatsby today and WOW. Loved it! Made me want to read the classic again. And maybe again. And Leo wasn’t bad either. (Big smile over here.)
