Today was a rough day for this babe of mine. A night of trying to keep up with the older girls left this little girl in a puddle of tears all day.
Ainsley…too cute for words. Long eyelashes and piles of curls. Sweet natured and full of love. My fifth blessing.
Number 5-such a tough place to be in a family of 6. Not the baby and not the oldest.
Ainsley…the lone snuggle bug in a family of touch-me-nots.
This gift, who needed more time from me than I had time to give. I had put her off all day. Until bathtime.
Until I simply walked away from the dinner dishes to sit with her in the bathroom.
This discipline of gift naming weighs heavy on my mind as it tries make its home in my heart. Until it comes naturally, like doing the dishes.
As I mentally counted the gifts around the bathtub, I watched this gift with the rubber ducky and smiled.
“You love me, don’t you, mommy?”, she asks.
