Humidity hangs in the air like a thick curtain. Another storm is brewing in the near distance and I can already feel the rain in the air. I can smell the storm coming.
Thad is on the porch swing, alone for the moment. Peeking through the blinds, I can see him bent over, elbows on his knees, and hands clasped in front of him. He’s not praying, he’s thinking. He saw the movement of the Lord today and he is pondering what he saw. He is wondering how all the pieces of this story will come together. He is full of thanks tonight as the Lord has answered many prayers all in one day.
And I thought weeks of praying and worrying have gone unheard. The Lord hears and He responds in His perfect time.
We had lunch with a couple that was in our youth group 13 years ago. Those 2 kids’ eyes lit up like Christmas trees as Thad shared his heart for Rocky Mount. Their eyes literally danced as they listened to Thad unpack his ever evolving ministry model. Thad was so engrossed in his sharing that I don’t think he ever realized the sheer joy on their faces. It was a gift.
The Lord gives and gives and gives and it is all to bring Himself glory.
And tonight, Thad is on the porch basking in the afterglow of seeing God’s glory. How awesome is that?!
